… and the Reveal!
Sorry to have made you wait so long! Some assembly was required. Well, here she is in all of her glory! My new (really old) letterpress!!! My 30th B-day present. She’s a very beautiful and very rare Excelsior bench press from Kelsey. One of the things that makes her so rare, and also the main reason for me wanting to buy her, is the dimensions. The 7" x 13" chase will allow me to create deep-relief artwork with exaggerated height or width.
I’ve been wanting to get a letterpress for some time now. I have actually never used one before but I am so in love with the letterpress effect that I just have to learn. I am planning to use this beautiful press mainly for limited edition prints, and I can’t wait to start. As soon as I get the 1 or 2 pieces that are missing, I will be ready to go! I will be sure to post my trials and errors here throughout! Thanks for your patience. With no more ado, here she is!!!

Hummm…I’m torn between a feeling of jealousy and excitement… Can’t wait to see what you’ll create with it… Have you given it a name? :)

my favorite part of this post is that you’ve never used a letterpress but love the process so much that it didn’t stop you from buying one. me too!!! that’s how i started to gocco and i bought a kiln for that reason too…
best wishes, i can’t wait either to see how it all goes. and now, i’m not afraid to buy one either (once i get a better hang of gocco, hahahaha!)
cheers!
